I have been contacted by yet another group in London who cannot offer support for disruptions and lack expertise or knowledge in this area. I am also finding it hard as a solo organiser of adoptiondisruptionuk to offer all the support I can for parents. Funding for disruptions needs to be passed our way so proper support can be offered 24/7. Please retweet and show your support.
Grazia South Africa article – 8th April 2015
I am sharing the article published by Grazia in South Africa – it doesn’t wholly reflect my story. I am discovering that it’s probably best to tell my story in my own words in future to the press ! however it does raise awareness about adopting damaged children and the subsequent Adoption Disruption which occurs and Care Orders which as you know I am passionate about changing and is the only reason why I went public with my story. Thank you South Africa for your support.

Adopting after an Adoption Disruption
I am getting inundated with parents who have been through an adoption disruption, applied to adopt again, and been declined by their LA who have put the blame for the disruption squarely at the parents feet. This cannot be right? These parents are heroes who deserve support – and have tried their hardest with damaged children often at the cost of their marriages ; ask yourself the question – could you do any better?
I have had the same email may be 50 times since I launched adoptiondisruptionuk.com
Thank you everyone
Thanks to all those who have had the courage to email me, post a comment on the forum, and those who have signed the Care Order Petition, and retweeted adoptiondisruptionuk
A lovely friend of mine just said a prayer for my son while she was in GOSH yesterday with her daughter when she visited the chapel. For anyone who doesn’t know the chapel at GOSH is one of the most beautiful places in the world and one of the most poignant. Thanks again everyone for all your support for the new website.
BBC Radio 4 Breakfast – 20th March 2015
BBC Radio 4 – Friday 20th March 2015 – http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b055jtwh really good mention for the website and background of my story in conjunction with general debate about improving adoption process and support
Campaigners are highlighting the huge impact on children and families following an event we hear little about – the breakdown of adoption. It’s rare – only about one in every thirty children adopted ends up being returned to care – but when that does happen, the impact upon the child can be dramatic. Now there’s a call for local authorities to ensure they give as much information as possible about the child that is to be adopted – which should happen in principle but in practice doesn’t always. A website adoptiondisruptionuk has just been set up to help such parents, by a woman who adopted a boy at eighteen months but struggled and eventually had to end the adoption after he developed a serious neurological disorder. Every family has a different story to tell. Our reporter Sanchia Berg has spoken to another mother whose adopted daughter is now back in care. Her words are spoken by an actor. Jemma Vanderstock was adopted age 4 and went back into care age 13 after the relationship with her adoptive parents broke down, she’s now aged 19 and Jim Clifford has nine adoptive children, and trains others in adoption and therapeutic parenting.
Seek justice and Sign – Epetition has just gone live
Please sign the petition to support changes in Care Order forms to protect ALL parents whose child needs to go into care for complex special needs reasons only and not through lack of parental love and devotion. As it stands Care Order form C110A will find fault with the biological or adoptive parent after a placement breakdown. This is not justice – Seek justice and Sign.
The Daily Mail – 19th March 2015 – new article
The Daily Mail – Thursday 19th March 2015 – http://www.dailymail.co.uk/home/index.html I am mentioned in the Daily Mail Online today and have been given full support by a very courageous woman who has told her story about adopting her child. It was really kind of her to give me her support and not condemnation and I thank her for putting herself out for me in doing so.
